Dear Colleagues

On behalf of the organizing committee is my honour and pleasure to invite you

in the 36th EAGP Congress, which is going to be held in the historic island of Kos

from 29th of May to 1st of June 2008.

It is a real privilege for us to organize the the Congress in Kos, an island very well

known from the Homeric era.  In the second rhapsody of Iliad is mentioned that Kos along

with other islands of Dodecanese participated in the Trojan War with thirty ships.

Later Kos participated in the Confederation of the Dorian Hexapolis and contributed greatly

in the miraculous Classical Greek and Hellenistic civilization and culture. In addition, Kos bases

its World recognition and reputation on  the fact that it is the birthplace of Hippocrates, who

by his extensive collections of medical data and his precious and thorough manuscripts,

contributed greatly in plotting a real scientific profile in the ancient Medicine.

Besides its history and numerous unique monuments Kos offers its natural beauty and the

kindness and unforgotten hospitality of the people.

We hope that the perfect harmonization of the scientific level with the natural and cultural

atmosphere of Kos will be a memorable experience for all of us and would strengthen our friendship

and reinforce our fruitful scientific collaboration.

Sincerely yours

Stavros J.Baloyannis MD, PhD
