Education Course
The objectives of this year's Education Course are to (a) provide a short introduction on principles of Teratology; (b) survey the most prominent developmental and reproductive toxicants that are present in the diet, as well as methods of risk assessment; (c) review current controversies concerning the benefits of nutritional interventions towards minimizing the risk of developmental toxicity. The Course is intended for medical doctors toxicologists, chemists, pharmacists, environmental and food scientists, and other scientists interested in toxicology. The faculty includes expert clinicians and scientists from basic and applied fields.
Conference Prizes
This year, three prizes will be issued for young scientists. The ETS prize (500 €) and two further prizes, awarded by Elsevier, will be given for the best free communication and/or poster presented by members of the ETS or those who have applied for membership before the Conference.
Exhibition
An exhibition of products and services of interest will be located in the foyer of the hotel, where the daily coffee/tea breaks will be also held (between the Conference and poster halls). Interested companies should contact Dr. Emmanouil-Nikoloussi for information (emmanik@med.auth.gr)

Accommodation
Thessaloniki, the second largest city of Greece, will host the 32nd ETS Conference. The Conference Venue is Electra Palace Hotel, a Deluxe hotel situated in the heart of the city in Aristotle Square with a marvelous view over Thermaikos Gulf.
Hotel Accommodation: We have reserved a contingent of rooms at Electra Palace Hotel and other hotels within walking distance. For room reservation, fill out the reservation form on-line at the Conference website or fill out the enclosed hotel reservation form and send it by fax or mail to the Conference Secretariat. Payment for accommodation should be made within 10 days after confirmation of the reservation by the Conference Secretariat otherwise it will be automatically cancelled. Reservations will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Αfter August 15th, 2004, we cannot guarantee room availability at the prices indicated on the reservation form. Read carefully the cancellation policy.
Getting to Thessaloniki
By air: Makedonia Airport of Thessaloniki is directly connected with major European destinations, such as Amsterdam, Belgrade, Berlin, Brussels, Bucharest, Budapest, Frankfurt, Istanbul, London, Milan, Munich, Prague, Stuttgart, Vienna, and Zurich. AUSTRIAN Airlines Group (Austrian, Austrian Arrows and Lauda) is appointed as the Official Airline of the Conference and offers for all participants the “Congress Fare”, a tariff-reduction of average 5% of all published fares. For more information, please contact the Conference Secretariat. Due to Olympic and Paralympic Games there may be effects on pricing and availability of tickets later in 2004, especially for routes via Athens.
From Makedonia Airport to Thessaloniki: Makedonia Airport of Thessaloniki is located 20 km from the centre of the city. The most convenient way of getting from the airport to your hotel is to take a taxi. The taxi ride takes about 30 minutes and costs approximately 10.00 €, both depending on the traffic.
There is also an express bus from the airport to the Centre of Thessaloniki (line 78, departs every 30 min, fare 0.45 €, travel time of about 50 min). Tickets are available at ticket vending machines. The nearest stop to all hotels is Aristotle Square.

Social Events and Post Conference Tours
Guided city tour: We will see the White Tower, the Arch of Gallerius, the Rotonda, the Walls and the Acropolis, the Ancient Agora (market place) and some of the most impressive Byzantine churches of the city (duration 3 hours).
Museum of Byzantine Culture (duration 2 hours).
Post-Conference Tours
Vergina, first capital city of the ancient Macedonia. Viewing of the impressive Macedonian tombs with their invaluable treasures .
Mount Athos Cruise, by boat. Travel by bus to Halkidiki and then by boat all along the western coast,we will observe the unique republic of monks with its impressive byzantine monasteries.
Tailor-made programme for pre- and post-conference tours: If you wish a particular tour in Greece before or after the Conference, please, let us know and we will offer you with a tailor-made programme for the dates of your choice.
Travel grants for young scientists
Travel grants are available for students or other members with limited financial support. Funds are limited and preference will be given to those who are presenting posters or free communications and have not received grants for previous conferences. Applications should be submitted to the Conference Secretariat accompanied by a supporting letter from a supervisor before April 1st, 2004.
PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION
Payment: All payments must be forwarded in Euro and made by bank transfer into the following account until August 30, 2004:

Payments must be net of bank fees, i.e. registrants must pay all transaction expenses charged both in Greece and abroad. For registrations received after August 30, you will be contacted for alternative payment methods by the Conference Secretariat.
Cancellation policy: Cancellations must be sent in writing to the Conference Secretariat, otherwise they will not be considered. Registration fees minus bank expenses will be refunded for cancellations before 1st July 2004. No refunds can be made thereafter. Hotel accommodation fees minus bank expenses and 10% of processing fees will be refunded for cancellations before 1st August 2004; one night will be charged for cancellations between 2nd and 15th August; two nights will be charged for cancellations between 16th August and 4th September; no refunds of hotel accommodation fees will be made for cancellations after 4th September 2004.
Money and Foreign Exchange: Greece's currency is the Euro. Other currencies can be changed at the airport, banks and hotels.

Public Transportation: Transportation in the city is provided by buses and taxis.
