Invitation to Thessaloniki

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the European Teratology Society (ETS) and the Local Organizing and Scientific Committee, I am very pleased to invite you to the 32nd Conference of the European Teratology Society in Thessaloniki. It is our great honor to organize the Annual Conference of the ETS for the first time in Greece and in a special year, the Olympic year 2004.

The Scientific Committee has prepared an outstanding agenda  covering both clinical and experimental aspects of very interesting fields of Developmental Toxicology. In the five symposia we are organizing, established experts will offer you latest information on diabetes in pregnancy, hypothyroidism and brain development, risk of antiretroviral drug therapy for the fetus, inborn errors of metabolism and fetal development, and - last but not least - new methodologies on genes and their applications in modern Teratology. Also, our Education Course on Sunday will focus on the risk of nutritional toxicants for developmental and reproductive toxicity as well as possible protection from such toxicity by nutrition and nutritional interventions.

Αpart from scientific aspects, the 32nd Conference of the ETS will be  also a good place to catch up with old friends, make new friends, discuss with established experts in the field and get stimulus and ideas for new projects.

We also invite you to visit and have a look at Thessaloniki, a city with over 2300 years' history, and its impressive monuments of Ancient, Roman, Byzantine, and modern times. Discover the secrets of the city, the blue sky and sea of Greece. If you have some more time, visit surrounding areas, such as ancient Vergina, Mount Athos, or some of the most beautiful Mediterranean beaches  of Halkidiki.

Looking forward to welcoming you to Thessaloniki !
